Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's sons - was born at Woodland Hills in the year 1956. Her father was an elementary school teacher, while her mother was an at-home mom. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. McCormick always enjoyed performing, dancing and performing puppet shows. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she was crowned the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6. This led to a call from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her if she would like to be in show business. McCormick got her first big job in 1964 when she appeared in a television commercial for Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in the play Wind It Up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the oldest daughter in the three towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. The show ran for five years. McCormick admitted in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that McCormick almost lost her virginity with Barry Williams during the five-year run of the show. In 2008, she revealed in her book, Here's the Truth: surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that in season five of the show, she was close to losing her virginity to actor Barry Williams. The timing would not have been ideal for us, she informed me.
