Arike Ogunbowale

Arike has been a American basketball player that plays for the Dallas Wings, a team that is part of the Women's National Basketball Association. She was drafted with the 5th selection overall during the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Arike Ogunbowale is a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale is her 26-year-old brother, and Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years older. Hers was the youngest of children in her family and her parents spoilt her the best. Gregory Ogunbowale, her father was a soldier in her father's army, the Nigerian Army quite a while. Ogunbowale comes from a family that has ties to the sporting world. Her mother Yolanda played softball at DePaul and her brother Dare is a football player. Her Aunt was a player at UAPB and their cousin Endia Oliver also plays volleyball in Tennessee State. Arike has graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in her hometown. While studying at the high school, she also played three seasons of football varsity. Her high school experience was compiled with 73 starts with 1,477 points in her career and 739 career rebounds. Ogunbowale took gold at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship as well as the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship, and the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. In July 2014 Ogunbowale was chosen as a part of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale has also been selected to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first ever collegiate experience. She was even congratulated by the Kobe Bryant after she hit numerous big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale, a basketball player in her early teens, is a player, who has already proven herself to be a great athlete. She is also a soccer player and she has won 3 State Cup titles for Lake County United Soccer Club as well as a State Cup title in the FC Milwaukee Soccer Club.
